Home Energy Planner ("the Site") provides general information and computer-generated estimates about energy-efficiency measures for UK properties. Nothing on the Site is professional, technical, engineering, structural, planning, legal, tax, insurance or financial advice, and it is not a retrofit assessment, EPC assessment, PAS 2035 assessment, survey or design.

You should always obtain a site survey and written quotation from a suitably qualified and accredited professional (for example an MCS-certified installer, a TrustMark-registered retrofit coordinator, a chartered surveyor or a Building Control body) before spending money or carrying out any work.

2. Estimates are indicative and may be wrong

Costs, energy savings, bill savings, carbon savings, payback periods, ROI rankings, budget plans and grant amounts shown on the Site are modelled estimates based on published tariffs, standard assumptions and third-party data. They are not quotations, offers, guarantees or predictions of the results you will achieve.

Actual outcomes depend on the fabric and condition of your property, occupancy and usage patterns, installer workmanship, product availability, tariffs and market prices, all of which change over time and are outside our control.

3. Third-party and property data

The Site uses third-party sources including the England & Wales EPC register, HM Land Registry price-paid data, OpenStreetMap and address data, and manufacturer-published product information. We do not control, verify or guarantee the accuracy, completeness or currency of that data. EPC records in particular may be years old, may contain assessor errors, and may not reflect works carried out since the certificate was lodged.

Where you enter your own property details, the Site relies on the accuracy of what you provide. Incorrect or incomplete input will produce incorrect output.

4. AI-generated content

Parts of the Site's recommendations are produced using automated and AI systems. Such output can be incomplete, outdated or factually incorrect, and may reference products or specifications that are unsuitable for your property. All AI-assisted output must be independently verified before you rely on it.

5. No affiliation, endorsement or warranty of products

Brands, models, products, installers, certification schemes and grant schemes are named for illustration only. We have no affiliation, sponsorship, partnership, commission arrangement or other commercial relationship with them, and we do not endorse, warrant, certify or guarantee any product, installer or scheme, nor its price, availability, performance or eligibility.

All trade marks are the property of their respective owners.

6. Grants, subsidies and eligibility

Grant, subsidy and funding information (including but not limited to the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, ECO4, GBIS and successor or local schemes) is a general indication only. Scheme rules, funding levels, deadlines and eligibility criteria change frequently. Only the scheme administrator, your energy supplier or your local authority can confirm whether you qualify and how much you may receive.

7. Planning, listed buildings and building regulations

Any comment about permitted development, planning permission, conservation areas, listed-building consent or building regulations is a general indication only and is never a substitute for a determination by your local planning authority, conservation officer or Building Control body. Carrying out works without the required consent may be unlawful and may be enforced against you.

8. Site availability

The Site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation any implied warranties of accuracy, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with your use of, or reliance on, the Site or its content. This includes without limitation direct, indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of savings, wasted expenditure, cost of remedial works, property damage, business interruption, or loss of data, however caused, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

You use the Site, and act on its content, entirely at your own risk and on your own commercial judgement.

10. Your responsibilities

You are solely responsible for verifying every recommendation with a qualified professional, for the decisions you make, for the contracts you enter into with installers or suppliers, and for ensuring that any works comply with applicable law, consents and safety requirements.

The Site may link to external websites. We do not control those sites and accept no responsibility for their content, products, services, availability or privacy practices.

12. Changes and governing law

We may amend this disclaimer at any time; the version published here is the version that applies. These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
